I was born in California and some of my fondest memories are of  growing up there.  So to me, the Spanish Missions along the coast have very special meaning.  San Juan Capristrano Mission is one of the jewels of that chain and has been painted many times.  A visit to the gardens one  fine May day when they were at their peak, inspired this pastel.   It won honors in the 2007 Pastel Society of the Southwest National Juried Competition.

I am available for commissions and for teaching classes and workshops.
